Founder of The Spiritual Centre

Bruce Clifton is a British spiritual writer and researcher whose work explores the relationship between nature, consciousness, spirituality and living traditions of the Celtic world.

1. Author Overview

As founder of The Spiritual Centre platform, Bruce has created and established a growing body of work dedicated to Celtic tree lore, extra sensory perception, nature-based consciousness and spiritual cosmology. This continuing work was established in 2004 and reached its millionth visitor on its 20th Anniversary in 2024.

Bruce blends historical research and mythological tradition with experiential spirituality. Rather than separating academic analysis from spiritual perception, he encourages the blending and develops further where natural alchemy converges.

Through The Spiritual Centre, a structured body of work is developing that includes: Celtic Tree wisdom - Ogham Tree Lore – a hierarchy of elemental orders – healing traditions and a spiritual philosophy rooted in the concept of Bnwyfre – Breath of Life – Life Force Energy.

Bruce Clifton is currently developing a series of books expanding the nature-centred spiritual philosophy emerging through The Spiritual Centre.

2. Research and Development

Bruce’s work focuses on three interconnected areas of study:

Celtic Tree Lore and Nature Spirituality

A comprehensive and evolving collection of writings that explores Celtic tree lore, Ogham, mythology, and healing traditions and animal spirits, along with the spiritual symbolism connected with these subjects.

Elemental Philosophy and the Orders of Nature

A developmental body of work that examines the hierarchy of elemental orders, previously described by Paracelsus and earlier traditions. Exploring the spiritual relationship and aspirations of humanity, terrestrial, extraterrestrial, celestial and elemental life forms.

Sacred History and Sacred Geography

Research exploring the spiritual traditions connected with Britain, including the historical and symbolic narratives derived from Celtic, early Christianity and sacred landscapes.

These themes form an integrated theological core, where spiritual knowledge emerges through interactions with nature, energy, consciousness and tradition.

3. Existing Work and Future Projects

Bruce has produced several independent works and collaborative works while developing The Spiritual Centre platform.

These include:

· Jesus in Britain – a ten-year research project culminating in linking historical and spiritual traditions of Celtic Britain with early Christianity.

· Animal Spirit Oracle deck (co-created with artist Sonia Parker) – a divination deck arising from the energy of animals related to the Celtic tree lore symbolism.

· Animal Spirit Oracle Twilight deck (co-created with artist Sonia Parker)—incorporating the allure and magic of the twilight hour.

In addition to published material, Bruce is developing the core of The Spiritual Centre including:

· Ogham Tree series

· Elemental Hierarchy of the Elementals

· Spiritual Cosmology

· Healing traditions connected with sacred plants and trees

· Sacred history connected with the British landscape

· Bnwyfre Spiritual Order

4. Current Direction

Bruce's current work focuses on developing a cohesive core body of literature rooted within the ethos of The Spiritual Centre.

The Spiritual Centre platform demonstrates the research and creative foundations for future development. The long-term strategy is to develop a series of works exploring relationships between nature, consciousness, energy and spiritual traditions.
